Instructional Designer/Contractor
GLS Instructional Designers utilize their experience and follow project documentation/guidancefrom the Lead Instructional Designer to produce learning content that is educationally soundand meets the needs of the target audience.
The Instructional Designer is responsible forgathering input from clients and subject matter experts (SMEs), collaborating with the projectteam, producing instructional design documents (design guides, planning sheets, storyboards,scripts, etc.
), and reviewing project deliverables to ensure that the design vision is met at a costand time acceptable to our target market.
GLS is seeking experienced IDs to provide instructional design and Storyline course authoringservices.
The minimum period of performance is six months, with possible extensions basedon the current requirements.
Candidates will work remotely during the contract period.
Aminimum of 5 years of ID experience is required.
Previous experience developing cybersecuritytraining is a plus.

Following industry standard (ADDIE) instructional design practicesConsulting with SMEs and others to create instructional content that supports the objectives and effectively engages the learnerPreparing clear learning objectives that reflect the required performanceAuthoring courses in Articulate Storyline (360 and RISE)Partner with Lead and other Instructional Designers as needed to develop:
Design documents/guidesPlanning sheetsStoryboards/ScriptsFinal authored courseOther duties as assignedEducation and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or equivalent, Master's preferred.
Five years experience in instructional design.
Proven experience participating in interactive multimedia instructional design projectsSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated ability to author key instructional design documentsDemonstrated creativity in creation of instructional design content, leveraging technology to enhance the learning experienceExtensive experience in interactive multimedia learning product design in a team/projectenvironment.
Demonstrated experience working on a team of instructional designers.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in their application in interactive multimedia learning.
Advanced knowledge of and experience with Articulate Storyline 360 and RISEAdvanced knowledge of and experience with standard software (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.
) and ability to learn new applications as needed.
Work Description:
Contractor, in collaboration with GLS Lead Instructional Designer, will be responsible for the design and development (including authoring) of GLS courses as specified by the Project Manager.
Contractor will be responsible for understanding the scope of effort, designing within that scope and alerting the GLS project manager of any scope creep.
Specific tasks will include the following:
Review of source content materials (PowerPoint, project documentation, and project planFormative review of overall Design Specification document (if applicable) plus creationof content outline for assigned courses;Modify storyboard for assigned e-learning content, using GLS-provided storyboard formatQuality Assurance review of Alpha/Beta and Gamma versions of the program, contentrevisions as neededReview/comment on weekly status reports from Project ManagerParticipation in a weekly status meeting and other content gathering meetings as needed.
