The parish is linked in a pastorate with St.
Francis of Assisi Parish (Fulton, MD).
Between the two parishes there are 2100 people attending weekend Masses.
St.
Louis Parish school has 560 students, which describes itself as Joyfully Catholic.
The parish has a robust youth ministry office, with three full-time staff members:
Director of Youth Ministry, Associate Youth Minister, and an Office Manager.
Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) includes outreach to middle school, high school, college, and young adults.
It also includes preparation for Confirmation and adolescent faith formation.
The youth ministry office strives to present an authentically Catholic message to our young people, teaching them about the nature of God and of the human person (through the theology of the body), and service to others informed by Catholic social teaching.
Position
Summary:
The Associate Youth Minister will be responsible for engaging youth and young adults through new and existing programs.
The Associate will work collaboratively with the Youth Ministry staff, the Faith Formation office, the School staff, and the Parish staff.
This position will be a full member of the pastoral staff and will report to the Director of Youth Ministry.
The position is full-time and is benefits eligible.
Essential Functions:
1.
Lead pastorate Summer ProgramEnvision and execute a new summer camp serving and employing youth and young adults of St.
Louis and St.
Francis.
Responsibilities include collaborating with CYM and parish staff, building on existing Catholic camp models, planning fun and faith-formative activities for both campers and counselors.
2.
Coordinate ministry for Young Adults (ages 18-35)Engage young adults in building and maintaining faith, community, and involvement in parish/pastorate life.
Responsibilities include planning events for college students and for young adults at the pastorate and regional levels.
3.
Support Retreat Programs for TeensHelp plan and direct high-school retreats annually for St.
Louis CYM.
Responsibilities include planning and attending retreats on parish, regional, Archdiocesan, and national levels.
4.
Assist the Director of Youth Ministry and the CYM OfficeHelp envision ways to engage and form youth through knowing, loving, and serving God.
Support CYM events for Middle School, High School, College/Young Adult, and volunteers.
Assist with CYM online presence and outreach.
Qualifications:
2 to 5 years of youth ministry experience and/or theology-related degree preferred Familiarity with Catholic teaching, theology, tradition, and doctrines Familiarity with adolescent faith development, engagement, and their social and cultural environment Ability to engage in one-to-one and group dynamics with young people, parents, & Parish Staff Strong social media skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft office and Google tools Ability to maintain proper boundaries with youth and knowledge of Child Protection policies Recommended Skills Microsoft Office Social Media Teaching Theology Group Dynamics Google Tools Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
